June 27th Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery

The release week June 27th Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for 2017 features top title Power Rangers from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

The 4K Ultra HD edition for Power Rangers is one of the first to feature Dolby Vision HDR along with Dolby Atmos audio.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing the sequel T2 Trainspotting on Blu-ray this week, as well as an Ultra HD release for T2 Trainspotting, with Dolby Atmos only on the 4K version.

Watch for the R rated comedy title CHIPS from Warner Home Video, who are also releasing the 80’s movie Running on Empty through the Warner Archive Collection.

Fox Home Entertainment has the television title Prison Break: Event Series, along with the Prison Break: Collectors Set.

Indie horror titles include The Autopsy of Jane Doe from Shout! Factory and Death Line from Blue Underground.

The Criterion Collection is releasing Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs this week, along with the early Hitchcock film The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog.

Fans of 70’s TV will like James Garner in The Rockford Files: The Complete Series from Mill Creek Entertainment.

Fox also has X-men: First Class on Ultra HD today, along with television title American Horror Story: Hotel.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the thriller sequel The Purge: Election Year this week, along with a special release of the Despicable Me: 3 Movie Collection that features a Minion lamp.

Warner Home Video is releasing the animated television titles The Venture Bros.: The Sixth Season and Banshee: Final Season from HBO Home Video this week.

They have also remastered Prince’s movies for the Prince Movie Collection, with Purple Rain, Under the Cherry Moon and Graffiti Bridge also in individual releases, all with special purple cases.

4K Ultra HD catalog releases from Warner this week include Pacific Rim and The Great Gatsby.

Lastly for Warner there is a repackage for the Harry Potter movies, from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2.

MGM Home Entertainment are releasing the television Blu-ray title Vikings: Season 4 Volume 1.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the video game inspired Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV this week.

Showtime title Penny Dreadful: The Final Season is available from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is releasing indie titles Into the Forest and Joshy on Blu-ray this week.

Other indie titles include the Korean movie The Wailing from Well Go USA and Robert Altman’s Nashville from the Criterion Collection.

All in all it is a pretty big week!

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and the Matthew McConaughey movie Free State of Jones.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has a 30th Anniversary release for Jim Henson’s Labyrinth with Dolby Atmos audio, along with a 4K Ultra HD release for Labyrinth.

Classic Blu-ray titles include the Coen brothers’ Blood Simple and Jacques Tourneur’s version of Cat People from the Criterion Collection, and Fanny from Shout! Factory.

MGM Home Entertainment has new versions of The Ultimate James Bond Collection and The James Bond Collection that include SPECTRE and UltraViolet codes for the Ultimate Collection.

This week Warner Home Video released the comedy sequel Barbershop: The Next Cut for Blu-ray Disc on July 26th, 2016.

Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver wrote the screenplay for this fourth film in the Barbershop franchise.

The cast features returning actors Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Anthony Anderson, Eve, and Sean Patrick Thomas.

The story picks up some ten years after Barbershop 2, with Chicago under threat from gang violence.


Creed Blu-ray Disc March 1st, 2016

The Creed Blu-ray from Warner Home Video on March 1st, 2016 was the top Blu-ray release of the week this week.

This sports drama was written by Ryan Coogler and Aaron Covington as a spin-off and sequel to the Rocky film series.

The story follows Apollo Creed’s illegitimate son Adonis Johnson, who connects with Rocky Balboa.

Creed was released on the fortieth anniversary of the date of the opening scene in Rocky.

Pokemon fans will be excited to see the collection Pokemon: The First Movie / Pokemon: The Movie 2000 / Pokemon 3: The Movie from Viz Entertainment.

Warner is also distributing The Leftovers: The Complete Second Season from HBO Home Video and releasing the Archive Collection title A Mighty Wind on Blu-ray this week.

Other new titles include Grandma from Sony Pictures Classics and British spy film MI-5 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Foreign titles include The Emigrants / The New Land from Criterion Collection and French film Paulette from Cohen Media Group.

Paramount Home Entertainment is celebrating 50 years of Star Trek with a repackage of the Star Trek: Original Motion Picture Collection.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment also has Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D repackages of the Pixar movies Brave and Up, and live action films Alice in Wonderland from and TRON: Legacy, all now featuring Disney Movies Anywhere.


Spectre Blu-ray Disc Coming February 9th, 2016

The new James Bond movie Spectre Blu-ray has been announced by MGM Home Entertainment, scheduled for a February 9th, 2016 release.

The movie is the twenty-fourth James Bond film produced by Eon Productions, and is the direct sequel to the 2012 film Skyfall.

Spectre was written by John Logan, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Jez Butterworth.

The story pits James Bond against SPECTRE, and effectively ties Daniel Craig’s series of films together.

Home Alone fans will like this new anniversary release, along with the Home Alone Ultimate Collector’s Edition from Fox Home Entertainment.

Fox also have the television titles American Horror Story: Freak Show and MGM’s Vikings: The Complete Third Season, teen title Me and Earl and the Dying Girl and an anniversary re-release of Rocky from MGM Home Entertainment.

Fox Home Entertainment has television titles too this week with the classic Lost in Space: The Complete Adventures and Empire: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray this week.

Fox is also distributing some new re-releases, including the original Mad Max and a new The Ultimate James Bond Collection from MGM Home Entertainment.

As well as the complete set, you can also get smaller collections for the different eras.

These include 007: The Sean Connery Collection – Vol. 1, 007: The Sean Connery Collection – Vol. 2007: The Daniel Craig Collection, 007: The Pierce Brosnan Collection, 007: The Timothy Dalton Collection and 007: The Roger Moore Collection – Vol. 2 from MGM Home Entertainment.
