Geostorm is the latest thriller unleashed by Warner Home Video with a January 23rd, 2018 Blu-ray release.

Dean Devlin co-wrote, produced, and directed this near future science fiction disaster thriller.

The story follows a satellite designer who tries to save the world from storms of epic proportions caused by malfunctioning climate-controlling satellites.

The film somewhat flopped in the USA but had a stronger following overseas.

Science fiction fans will love the new Blade Runner 2049 Blu-ray release from Warner Home Video on January 16th, 2018.

Hampton Fancher and Michael Green wrote the screenplay for this stylish Sci-Fi thriller.

The film is of course a sequel to the 1982 film Blade Runner.

The story is set some thirty years later, where ‘Blade Runner’ LAPD Officer K  uncovers secrets that threaten the peace between humans and replicants.

This science fiction action film was written by Jamie Moss, William Wheeler, and Ehren Kruger.

The film is based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow.

The story is set in a near future, when the line between humans and robots is blurred, and a cyborg supersoldier seeks out her past.

This week I am taking a closer look at the Paramount Home Entertainment family movie Monster Trucks, released on Blu-ray Disc April 11th, 2017.

This action-comedy film was written by Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger, Derek Connolly and Matthew Robinson.

The story follows a high-schooler who finds an escaped monster living in his truck.

The film received mixed reviews, and grossed just $84 million worldwide against its $125 million budget.

The latest entry in the DC Comic Universe is out with the Warner Home Video Blu-ray 3D release for Suicide Squad 3D on December 13th, 2016.

David Ayer wrote the screenplay for this action super hero film, based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name.

It is the third film in the DC Extended Universe following Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The story follows a team of misfit criminals coerced into being superheroes.

David Ayer wrote the screenplay based on the DC Comics antihero team.

The story follows a secret government agency that recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions.

Outlander fans will enjoy the new Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Blu-ray release for Outlander: Season Two this month.

The show is based on the historical time travel Outlander series of novels by Diana Gabaldon.

The second season has 13 episodes and is based on the Dragonfly in Amber novel.

It stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, a World War II nurse who finds herself transported back to 1743 Scotland.

The big release this week is Star Trek Beyond 3D, on Blu-ray 3D from Paramount Home Entertainment on November 1st.

Simon Pegg and Doug Jung collaborated on the screenplay for the film, based on the series created by Gene Roddenberry.

It is the thirteenth film in the Star Trek franchise and the third in the reboot series.

The film is dedicated to Anton Yelchin, who died a month before release, and fellow Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, who passed away during pre-production.

This week’s top new title is the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment release Ghostbusters – on Blu-ray Disc October 11th, 2016.

Paul Feig and Katie Dippold wrote the screenplay for this supernatural action comedy.

With Bill Murray’s refusal to commit to the project and the death of Harold Ramis in 2014, Sony decided to reboot the series.

The film is thus the third feature movie in the Ghostbusters franchise.


X-Men Apocalypse Blu-ray Disc October 4th, 2016
