Fearless, Pink Panther and Zodiac Headed to Blu-ray

Universal Home Video will be releasing Jet Li’s Fearless on Blu-ray Disc on December 9th, 2008.

The retail price is $29.98, get it at Amazon for only $21.95.

Dark Knight, Dexter and Stargate Blu-ray Pre-orders Listed

Warner Home Video has announced The Dark Knight for Blu-ray on December 9th, 2008 - complete with BD Live features and a Digital Copy.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army to have Two Blu-ray Editions

The primary version will be a 2 Disc Edition that includes Digital Copy and BD Live capability. This edition will be $39.98 retail, or pre-order at Amazon for only $29.95.

Import Watch: The Wackness, Seraphim Falls and Tyson

Universal Moving to AVC Codec for Blu-ray Disc?

This week I have noticed an interesting trend from Universal with respect to their chosen video codec.

In the past, Universal has pretty universally used the VC-1 codec.

Import Watch France: Dead Man, Wild at Heart and Requiem for a Dream

Quite a number of new titles have been listed to be released by Aventi and BAC - including a number of US ‘art house’ films. I am certainly hoping for good quality releases that are coded for all regions!

Dead Man is scheduled for release by BAC on November 5th, 2008.

The first Weinstein Company title is the thriller 1408, which is $20.95 at Amazon.

They are also releasing the Frank Darabont movie The Mist, which is $23.95 at Amazon.
