It looks like Amazon is shifting out the last of the BDP-S300 units for a sale price of only $229.
While this player doesn’t have the latest Bonus View capability, for that price it is a bargain for the price conscious shopper.
The choices for Blu-ray players will become even wider with the release of Sherwood Blu-ray players later this year, according to TWICE.
The Blu-ray players are the BDP-6003 ($499 retail), due for release in September, and the BDP-5003 ($299 retail), due October 2008.
Over at Best Buy they are listing a new Blu-ray player from Samsung.
The BD-P2550 unit appears to be much the same as the 1500, with the addition of 7.1 analog outputs and the Silicon Optix HQV Reon scaling engine.

The Bonus View enabled Panasonic DMP-BD30K Blu-ray Disc Player is listed for $359.99, a saving of $40 while the Sharp AQUOS BD-HP20U Blu-ray Disc Player is $379.99, saving $20.
It is somewhat of a surprise to me to read of new Panasonic Blu-ray players planned for the holiday season.
It is a surprise since Panasonic is one of the few, if not the only player manufacturer to have both a Bonus View and a BD Live Blu-ray player in their line up already.

Twice is reporting that Samsung will expand its range of Blu-ray home theater in a box systems to three models with the August shipment of the 5.1-channel HT-BD2E. The system is priced at $799, making it the most affordable available.
Good news for people waiting for the latest Sony Blu-ray Player - the Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray Player is now shown as in stock at Amazon.
They will even give you a slight discount off the retail price, listing it currently at $391.92. Of course the shipping is included.
The Sony BDP-S350 is the latest player released by Sony and ships with Bonus View capability, with BD Live capability coming in a firmware update scheduled some time in 2008, according to a note that comes in the box.
The first Sony BDP-S350 players are shipping to customers, and the box includes a sheet that indicates that the player will be upgraded to BD Live capability this year, and includes instructions on where to look and how to upgrade.
The player is listed on Amazon for $399.99, though they currently have no stock - no doubt more options will appear over the next couple of days.
It is exciting to see the BD Live capable players finally arriving, albeit in small quantities for now.
