Warner Home Video has Casablanca Ultimate Collector’s Edition coming to Blu-ray on December 2nd, 2008. It is great to see that Warner has gone all to such lengths for this classic title.
Retail is set at $64.99, pre-order at Amazon for only $44.95.
Sony Pictures is releasing Starship Troopers on August 5th, 2008. Retail will be $28.95, the Amazon price - only $19.95.
Budget line distributor Platinum Disc Corporation is planning to release The Woods Have Eyes on October 21st, 2008. The retail price will be $14.99, pre-order at Amazon for $9.95.
The first new listing is one that makes me very happy indeed. The excellent Paris Je T’Aime has been listed by First Look Pictures, scheduled for a November 18th, 2008 release.
This title is mostly in French and features shorts by twenty filmmakers, offering a wide variety of styles and genres, set in the various arrondissements in Paris. This film is simply a must own for anyone with an interest in foreign cinema and I personally can’t wait to see it again.

Best Buy has a new promotion for Blu-ray titles this week.
Choose from a selection of Blu-ray titles from the likes of Starz, Lions Gate and Platinum Disc and get two for $25. While some of the discs are budget titles, great savings can be had.

The Universal Pictures release of Scorpion King 2 will be released direct to video including Blu-ray Disc.A prequel to the Scropion King movie, Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior tells the story of the teenage warrior Mathayus and his quest for justice and honor against the evil and powerful King Sargon.
Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior will be released by Universal Studios on August 19th, 2008. Retail is set at $39.98, pre-order at Amazon for only $27.95.
Amazon has listed a new Dirty Dancing Collectors Edition, apparently to be released by Lions Gate on August 12th, 2008. This title was already released just over a year ago, so it is not out of the question that a new version could be coming. The retail price is $19.98, you can pre-order it at Amazon for $13.95.
Platinum Disc has announced some pairings of their movies for release on July 29th, 2008. Firstly Salvage & Mortuary is set at $28.98 retail, pre-order at Amazon for $25.50. Artie Lange’s Beer League & The Big White will also be at Amazon for $25.50.
The girls just keep on going wild - Girls Gone Wild: The Perfect Pair will be released by Mantra Films on August 12th, 2008. The retail price will be $24.95, pre-order at Amazon for $16.95.
A whole swag of Blu-ray title bundles have been listed on Amazon today.
BBC Video has The BBC High Definition Natural History Collection coming to Blu-ray on July 22nd, 2008. The bundle contains Planet Earth, Wild China, Galapagos and Ganges. The retail for this set is $179.98, Amazon are listing it for for $125.95.
Platinum Disc is planning to release a pair of twin packs. Curse of King Tut’s Tomb + Blackbeard has a retail price of $28.98 - at Amazon for only $19.95, along with 10. 5 Apocalypse + Category 7: The End of the World is also at Amazon for $19.95. Both are scheduled for for July 8th, 2008. Doesn’t seem like any saving over buying them individually…!
There are also quite a number of Fox/MGM three disc bundles listed - all have an Amazon price of $59.95-$65.95, representing a 45% saving over the retail price and will be released June 17th, 2008. Prison Break - Season Three will be released by Fox on August 26th, 2008. It is not clear what happened to Season 2 (Season 1 has been previously released). Retail has been set at $79.98, bargain hunters will find it at Amazon for only $55.95.
Get Smart’s Bruce and Lloyd out of Control will be released by Warner Home Video on July 1st, 2008. This ‘direct-to-video’ title features Get Smart stars Masi Oka of (from Heroes) and Nate Torrance in their own adventure as a tie in with the theatrical release of Get Smart. Retail is set at $35.99, pre-order at Amazon for only $25.15.
While it didn’t do so well as the US Box Office, Paramount will release The Ruins on Blu-ray Disc, though no date has been set (Day and Date with the DVD is expected). The retail price is $39.99, you can pre-order it at Amazon for only $27.95.
Budget label Platinum Disc has a trio of releases for July. Firstly there is Mortuary on July 29th, 2008. Retail will be $13.98, only $8.95 at Amazon.

Image Entertainment is playing catch up today with a couple of concert releases. The first is Chicago & Earth, Wind & Fire- Live at the Greek, which is to be released Jun 10th, 2008. This title was released on HD DVD back in late 2006, and it is good to see Image bringing their Blu-ray catalog up to date. The retail price is set at $24.98, while Amazon lists it for pre-order at $16.95
Image Entertainment is also releasing Heart: Alive in Seattle [Blu-ray] on Jun 10th. Again this title was released on HD DVD December 2006. The retail price is $24.98 and at Amazon for $16.95
Platinum Disc has a couple of new budget releases coming. Firstly an underground colony of alien-insect-like creatures are harvesting human bodies in San Francisco in the movie Final Days of Planet Earth starring Daryl Hannah. Secondly there is the TV version of the Poseidon Adventure featuring Rutger Hauer and Steve Guttenberg. Both will released June 3rd, 2008, with list set at $13.98 and only $8.95 at Amazon.
