JacktheGiantSlayer3DAside from a big new release from Warner, it is a mostly quiet week in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for mid June 2013.

Bryan Singer’s latest movie Jack the Giant Slayer 3D is on the Blu-ray 3D format this week from New Line Home Entertainment, along with a regular Blu-ray combo release for Jack the Giant Slayer.

Other popular titles this week are the new catalog titles Lifeforce and The Howling from Shout! Factory.

Fox Home Entertainment has new titles this week too, including Stoker,  Movie 43, and 21 & Over.

Fox also has the cult television favourite Wilfred: The Complete Season 2 this week, and other television releases include Workaholics: Season Three from Comedy Central and Call the Midwife: Season Two from BBC Home Entertainment.

The Criterion Collection has three releases this week as well, with the 20′s Harold Lloyd film Safety Last!, the 30′s science fiction movie Things to Come, and the 60′s Czech film Marketa Lazarova.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of June 10th, 2013

HanselGretelWitchHunters3DWe have a couple of big Blu-ray 3D releases in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of  June 10th 2013.

First up is the fantasy action movie Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, along with the Limited 3D Edition of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has Oz the Great and Powerful this week, also with an Oz the Great and Powerful 3D edition.

Disney also has some new animated double feature releases, including Lilo & Stitch / Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a GlitchThe Emperor’s New Groove / Kronk’s New Groove, and Atlantis: The Lost Empire / Atlantis: Milo’s Return.

Paul McCartney and Wings feature in Rockshow this week from Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Summit Entertainment has The Rock in his latest movie Snitch this week.

For classic cinema, watch for a new release for Enter the Dragon from Warner Home Video this week, as well as Bergman’s Wild Strawberries from the Criterion Collection, and documentary How to Survive a Plague from MPI Home Video.

Television releases include The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Complete Third Season from Image Entertainment,  The Newsroom: The Complete First Season from HBO Home Video and the Netflix original series House of Cards: The Complete First Season from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of June 3rd, 2013

Fox Home Entertainment has Bruce Willis’ latest A Good Day to Die Hard this week. taking the top title honors.

Identity Thief is the first of many new titles from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, while Summit Entertainment has the romantic zombie film Warm Bodies.

Other Universal titles include disaster epic Earthquake, with other classic releases including Creature from the Black Lagoon, Hitchcock’s Rope, the 1932 version of The MummyThe Invisible Man and Phantom of the Opera.

New titles with UltraViolet now thrown in include The StingThe Bourne IdentityThe Bourne Ultimatum and The Bourne Supremacy.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has television release Breaking Bad: The Fifth Season this week, while Warner has Falling Skies: The Complete Second SeasonAdventure Time: The Complete First Season and Adventure Time: The Complete Second Season.

Other Warner releases include The Odd Couple and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

Anchor Bay Entertainment has a Blu-ray 3D release this week for the computer animated Escape from Planet Earth, while MGM Home Entertainment has the Daniel Craig 007 Collection.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of May 13th, 2013

CloudAtlasThe Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of May 13th features some great new releases, including the epic Wachowski sibling movie Cloud Atlas from Warner Home Video.

Showtime Entertainment has the latest Dexter: The Seventh Season on Blu-ray this week.

The Texas Chainsaw 3D remake is also out this week in the Blu-ray 3D format from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the first of their ‘Mastered in 4K’ series with extended colour gamut, which includes the classic comedy Ghostbusters, Sam Raimi’s Spider-ManThe Amazing Spider-Man, Scorcese’s Taxi Driver, Da Vinci Code sequel Angels & Demons, the remake of The Karate Kid and crime comedy The Other Guys.

The Criterion Collection has a couple of classic western’s this week, with Jubal and the original 3:10 to Yuma.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of April 29th, 2013

Top title for the week is Academy Award winning  Silver Linings Playbook from Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Music documentary title History of the Eagles is out this week, and Amazon has a special edition History of the Eagles from Jigsaw Productions.

It is a big Star Trek week too, with Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season Three and Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Best of Both Worlds from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Paramount also has individual releases for original Trek movies, including Star Trek I: The Motion Picture and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

Seth Rogen’s new movie The Guilt Trip is also new from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Fox Home Entertainment has Broken City this week, while Sony Home Entertainment has Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl.

Look for Baz Luhrmann’s first feature Strictly Ballroom in a catalog release from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Warner Home Video has individual releases for Friends: The Complete First Season and Friends: The Complete Second Season this week.

Over to classic cinema, look for Humphey Bogart in The Enforcer and Gary Cooper in Cloak and Dagger this week from Olive Films.

JurassicPark3DAnother quiet week in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery this week, where the top seller is the new Blu-ray 3D release for Jurassic Park from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Universal also has the spoof comedy A Haunted House and Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land this week.

Warner Home Video has their 40′s crime movie Gangster Squad this week and Summit Entertainment has tsunami drama The Impossible.

Over to indies and classics, watch for Ken Burns’ The Central Park Five from PBS Home Video, as well as Laurence Olivier’s Richard III and the Pierre Etaix Collection from Criterion Collection.

Olive Films has a bunch of John Wayne movies this week, including The Fighting Seabees, as well as Hal Hartley’s Flirt this week.

BibleThe Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of April Fools Day is a little on the light weight side.

The top titles this week come from Fox Home Entertainment, with the ‘epic miniseries’ The Bible and catalog releases for That Thing You Do! and Hello Dolly!.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has put together a 6 movie Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray collection – the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled – that also features a new supplemental disc.

On the indie side, look for John Dies at the End from Magnolia Home Entertainment, British crime movie The Sweeney from Entertainment One and the Japanese horror Tormented 3D in the Blu-ray 3D format from Well Go USA.

The wait is over for the Game of Thrones: The Complete Second Season release from HBO Home Video this week.

Warner Home Video has Ben Affleck’s award winning Argo this week, along with catalog releases for Easter Parade and Best in Show.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the SyFy channel show Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome on Blu-ray this week.

We have a new Blu-ray 3D edition of Monsters, Inc. from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, along with a new Monsters, Inc. regular Blu-ray release and the catalog title The Insider.

Speaking of Blu-ray 3D, watch for Top Gun in a Limited 3D Edition 3D conversion from Paramount Home Entertainment.

MGM Home Entertainment has a remaster for the original The Terminator, while those who like classics should look for On the Waterfront from the Criterion Collection and Thief of Bagdad from Cohen Media Group.

This week also sees a Blu-ray release for the Academy Award winning documentary Undefeated from Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of January 28th, 2013

DowntonAbbeySeason3In a quiet week, the top title in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery is the fiercely popular British television drama Downton Abbey: Season 3 from PBS Home Video.

Also this week Warner Home Video is releasing the animated Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – Part 2, and a huge Best of Warner Bros.: 50 Film Collection box set with the best Warner titles from the past 70 years or so.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the animated Hotel Transylvania in 3D, also available in a regular Hotel Transylvania Blu-ray edition, and the crime comedy Seven Psychopaths this week.

Paramount Home Entertainment milks the franchise for another go around with Paranormal Activity 4, while Fox has a new Die Hard: 25th Anniversary Collection release.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is digging into the foreign catalog with the classic French title That Obscure Object of Desire this week.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment on the other hand has a collection of underwater Blu-ray 3D documentaries, including Amazing Ocean 3DFascination Coral Reef 3D, and Fascination Coral Reef: Mysterious Worlds Underwater 3D.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of January 7th, 2013

DreddIn the better late than never category, the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week shows that the holidays are over with a nice slate of titles including some hot Blu-ray 3D releases.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment takes top honors this week with the Blu-ray 3D release for Dredd, which has both the 3D and regular Blu-ray combined on one disc.

Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie hits Blu-ray 3D this week from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, though the regular Blu-ray for Frankenweenie has its own release.

Cult favourite animated TV show Archer: The Complete Season Three is on Blu-ray from Fox Home Entertainment, just in time for the start of season 4 on FX.

Another popular title is Ron Fricke‘s latest visual masterpiece Samsara from MPI Home Video.

Classic titles this week include Digbook releases for Driving Miss Daisy and The Jazz Singer from Warner Home Video, who also have Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford in Grand Hotel.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the original Cape Fear, and this week’s Criterion Collection release is Two-Lane Blacktop.

Other indie, foreign and special interest releases of note include Compliance from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Sleep Tight from MPI Home Video and American Masters: Inventing David Geffen from PBS Home Video.
