The Blu-ray market share versus DVD top 20 remained at 6% for the week ending August 31st, according to the latest Home Media Magazine.
That said the revenues were significantly up, exceeding $9M for the week - a gain of almost 30% over the previous week.
The latest Home Media Magazine is reporting that the Blu-ray Disc revenue for the week ending August 24th was up 14.25% over the previous week, with just over $7M for the week.
At the same time, the market share versus DVD for the top 20 was down to 6%.
The top seller for the week was the new Fox release Street Kings.
Another slow week for Blu-ray for the week ending August 17th, according to the report form Home Media Magazine.
While the market share versus DVD top 20 was back up to 8%, the revenue was down a further 10% to $6.19M, which is the lowest ever since HMM started reporting the revenue.
The market share and revenue for Blu-ray Disc, as reported by Home Media Magazine, were down for the week ending August 10th.
Perhaps due to no new strong strong performing titles, the market share was back down to 7% for the top 20 titles and the revenues were off 26.88% to $6.89M.
Home Media Magazine is reporting that the top 20 market share for Blu-ray Disc against DVD is back in double digits with 10% this week - up from 9% the week before.
The revenue for Blu-ray was also up 17.85% over the previous week at $9.42M for the week.
Last week was a slightly better week for Blu-ray Disc in both Market Share and Revenue according to Home Media Magazine.
For the Blu-ray versus DVD top 20 titles, Blu-ray Disc secured 9% market share, up a point over the previous week. The revenue of $8M was up 5% over the previous week.
The Market Share of the Blu-ray top 20 titles versus DVD top 20 slipped to 8 percent this week, as reported by Home Media Magazine. Not that this is a bad market share per se - we have seen the market share wafting between 7 and 12 in recent times. The revenue of $7.61M is down 9.58% from last week.
Batman Begins remains a strong title, forcing The Bank Job to settle for second place. The top 5 was rounded out by a cluster of three titles, Batman Gotham Knight, Step Up 2: The Streets and Jumper, which sold roughly a quarter of Batman Begins numbers. Shutter and College Road Trip managed 11th and 12th place respectively. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest came in at 19th place - perhaps not so bad for a catalog title.
Blu-ray Disc close to doubled its market share versus DVD for the week ending July 13th, according to Home Media Magazine.
Blu-ray Disc managed 12% market share when comparing the top 20 titles for each format - a new record high for Blu-ray and a huge step up from the previous week’s 7% market share.
The Blu-ray Market share remains at 7% comparing the top 20 titles versus DVD the week ending July 6th, according to the report in Home Media Magazine. Revenues dropped just below the $8M mark, to $7.86M.
The good news is that we have charts for Blu-ray sales and market share on a per title basis again after two weeks deprivation!
Sadly another week without Blu-ray Top 20 charts in the Home Media Magazine this week - presumably due to the holiday weekend. Hopefully it is not a trend!
As such the news is limited - Blu-ray Disc achieved 7 percent of the market share versus DVD based on the top 20 titles and the revenues were up a little to $8.88M dollars that week.
