Journey to the Center of the Earth, Nikita and The Messenger Headed to Blu-ray

journey.jpgNew Line’s recent 3D movie, Journey to the Center of the earth has been listed for Blu-ray release on October 28th, 2008.

The Blu-ray will be a limted edition that features both 2D and 3D versions.

Retail is set at  $35.99, Amazon lists it for $26.95.

Market Share and Revenues Recede for the Week Ending September 14

hmm08.jpgThe Blu-ray revenue and top 20 market share versus DVD both receded somewhat according to Home Media Magazine, which is hardly surprising for the week after the Transformers release.

Market share was 8% while the revenue was down 13% to $9.18M for the week - still respectable but not double figures.

Erin Brockovich Import and Kit Kittredge: An American Girl for Blu-ray

Erin Brockovich will be released by MSI:TX2 on September 8th, 2008.

If you click on the image you can clearly see that it is the Japanese Sony release, which is region free.

Austin Power Box Set Destined for Blu-ray Disc

New Line Home Video has Austin Powers Collection coming to Blu-ray on December 2nd, 2008.

Run Fatboy Run Headed to Blu-ray Disc

Warner Home Video will be releasing Run Fat Boy Run on Blu-ray on September 23rd, 2008. After the UK release was coded for Region B only, I was a bit worried that it might not get a US compatible release.

Blu Raspberry - Warner to Put Lossy Audio on New Line Releases As Well!

blow.jpgI must admit I was a little excited when I read that New Line is going to release Blow on Blu-ray Disc on the increasingly busy release date of September 23rd.

My excitement was a little short lived when I discovered that Warner appears to have taken over the New Line catalogue for real - and have infected New Line with their Dolby Digital sound tracks.

Men in Black, Be Kind Rewind Released Today on Blu-ray Disc

mib.jpgIn a fairly small week for Blu-ray releases by recent standards, we have some Day and Date releases from Warner and some catalogue releases from Sony.

First up from Warner we have Be Kind Rewind, the latest film from Michel Gondry. Michel is famous for his quirky movies including The Science of Sleep and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (a personal favourite).
