Amazon has a new sale listed today, that includes the recently reduced Lionsgate and Starz titles reported previously.
The sale also includes Disney titles as well as small distributors like Magnolia and HDNet - 83 titles in total.
Titles include Sex and Death 101, The Bank Job, Mad Men - Season One, The World’s Fastest Indian, Rambo and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.
A set of semi interesting releases are slated for today.
The must have item for me is the Lions Gate release The Doors ($19.95 at Amazon). It has been a while since I have seen this one and look forward to a nice HD picture and lossless 7.1 audio.
While many Disney titles are currently 40% off, it seems that one title has been given special attention by Amazon.
Currently Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back has been discounted to $10.95 - a savings of 63%! While it is perhaps not Kevin Smith’s best film, it is a lot of fun and at $11 worth picking up if you were on the fence at other more expensive price points.
Other discounted titles at around half off or better are 3:10 to Yuma at $18.95, WWE - Wrestlemania 24 at $24.95 and Postal at $17.95.
Equilibrium has been listed by Momentum Pictures for Blu-ray release on September 15th, 2008. This Sci-fi thriller from 2002 featuring Christian Bale and Sean Bean has somewhat of a cult following and was previously available as an HD DVD import from Japan. It is perhaps fitting that it will become an import from the UK for Blu-ray Disc, assuming region compatibility.
We have six new releases on Blu-ray today, covering a variety of genres and features.
First up is The Bank Job from Lions Gate - a film that I thoroughly enjoyed at the cinema and will be a ‘must own’ for me on Blu-ray. The disc includes a digital copy and is only $23.95 at Amazon.
I see today that Amazon has a new Buy 2, Get 1 Free Blu-ray Sale.
This sale covers a number of studios’ releases including Paramount, Fox, Lions Gate, Starz, Image Entertainment, Funimation and even BCI Eclipse - 109 titles in total.
Perhaps a great opportunity to get some of those more obscure studio releases or Paramount releases at a decent discount.

Forbidden Kingdom, featuring Jet Li and Jackie Chan, will be released by Lions Gate on September 9th, 2008. Retail will be $39.99, the Amazon price - only $27.95.
Best Buy has a new promotion for Blu-ray titles this week.
Choose from a selection of Blu-ray titles from the likes of Starz, Lions Gate and Platinum Disc and get two for $25. While some of the discs are budget titles, great savings can be had.
This offer ends June 21st.
DVD Times is reporting the details for another Lions Gate release coming up.
Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns is scheduled for released on July 1st in a two disc special edition, with Digital Copy.
The release will feature 1080p 1.78:1 Widescreen video and English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio sound.
Lions Gate Home Entertainment will be releasing Jet Li’s Black Mask on Blu-ray Disc on September 2nd, 2008. Retail is set at $29.99, pre-order at Amazon for only $20.95.
Lions Gate Home Entertainment is also planning to release a pair of animated super hero movies. The first is The Invincible Iron Man on September 2nd, 2008. With Transformers being released that day also, I have to wonder if this is also the release date for the Paramount’s Iron Man live action film - if so it will be a big day for Blu-ray! Retail will be $29.99, only $20.95 at Amazon.
Lions Gate Home Entertainment will also be releasing Next Avengers: Heroes Of Tomorrow on Blu-ray Disc on September 2nd. Again retail will be $29.99, only $20.95 at Amazon.
