CloudAtlasThe Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of May 13th features some great new releases, including the epic Wachowski sibling movie Cloud Atlas from Warner Home Video.

Showtime Entertainment has the latest Dexter: The Seventh Season on Blu-ray this week.

The Texas Chainsaw 3D remake is also out this week in the Blu-ray 3D format from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the first of their ‘Mastered in 4K’ series with extended colour gamut, which includes the classic comedy Ghostbusters, Sam Raimi’s Spider-ManThe Amazing Spider-Man, Scorcese’s Taxi Driver, Da Vinci Code sequel Angels & Demons, the remake of The Karate Kid and crime comedy The Other Guys.

The Criterion Collection has a couple of classic western’s this week, with Jubal and the original 3:10 to Yuma.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of May 6th, 2013

Top title is the crime thriller Jack Reacher starring Tom Cruise from Paramount Home Entertainment.

MGM Home Entertainment has the classic war film The Great Escape this week.

Warner Home Video has a huge slate of titles this week, including  Fringe: The Complete Fifth Season the full series collection with Fringe: The Complete Series.

Warner also has a huge collection of Steelbook releases this week for their top titles, including Watchmen, Batman , and Batman Returns, and Paramount titles including GladiatorChinatown, and Face/Off.

Warner also has a catalog release for An Officer and a Gentleman.

Fox Home Entertainment has the new release Safe Haven this week, along with catalog titles like The Verdict and One Hour Photo.

Also watch for thriller Mama from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, along with catalog releases In the Name of the Father and Hitchcock movies Shadow of a Doubt and Saboteur this week.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has their first 3D conversion release with Gamer 3D this week.

Indie releases include Upstream Color from New Video DVD, Goddard’s Band of Outsiders from Criterion Collection.

Echo Bridge Home Entertainment has a wide range of Miramax catalog titles this week too, including The Grifters , The Hoax , Fresh , Heaven , and Steven Soderbergh’s Full Frontal.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of April 22nd, 2013

JurassicPark3DAnother quiet week in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery this week, where the top seller is the new Blu-ray 3D release for Jurassic Park from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Universal also has the spoof comedy A Haunted House and Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land this week.

Warner Home Video has their 40′s crime movie Gangster Squad this week and Summit Entertainment has tsunami drama The Impossible.

Over to indies and classics, watch for Ken Burns’ The Central Park Five from PBS Home Video, as well as Laurence Olivier’s Richard III and the Pierre Etaix Collection from Criterion Collection.

Olive Films has a bunch of John Wayne movies this week, including The Fighting Seabees, as well as Hal Hartley’s Flirt this week.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of April 8th, 2013

GabrielIglesiasAlohaFluffyThis week’s Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery looks to be mostly dominated by television releases in a quiet week for movie titles.

Stand up comedy wins out with the Comedy Central title Gabriel Iglesias: Aloha Fluffy.

The Criterion Collection has David Cronenberg’s Naked Lunch this week, along with the Japanese film Gate of Hell.

BBC Home Video has a big selection this week, including the popular Merlin: The Complete Fifth Season and documentary shows The Blue Planet: Seas of LifeOne Life and Great Barrier Reef .

Lionsgate Home Entertainment also has a television release with Boss: Season Two and Image Entertainment has The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Complete First Season.

Watch later in the week for a giveaway of the Japanese comedy horror Deadball from Well Go USA.

Meanwhile Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing UltraViolet bundled versions of The Fast and the Furious , Fast & Furious , Fast Five and 2 Fast 2 Furious.

LincolnMore Academy Awards winners in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of March 25th 2013.

Top title for the week is Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln from DreamWorks Home Entertainment in a Blu-ray/DVD Combo, though you can also get Lincoln in a 4 disc edition with Digital Copy.

Brad Pitt is a professional enforcer in Killing Them Softly from Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has individual editions for Jurassic ParkThe Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III this week.

Look for the IMAX title To the Arctic 3D on Blu-ray 3D from Warner Home Video this week, along with The Terminator Anthology and Veep: The Complete First Season from HBO Home Video.

Speaking of television releases, Paramount Home Entertainment has both Star Trek: Enterprise – Season One and The Borgias: The Second Season new to Blu-ray.

On the classic cinema side of things, watch for Chaplin in Monsieur Verdoux and French film A Man Escaped from Criterion Collection, Little Fugitive from Kino Lorber Incorporated and Panic in the Streets from Fox Home Entertainment this week.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of March 11th, 2013

LifeofPi3DThere are a bunch of hot new titles in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of March 11th 2013.

The Blu-ray 3D release for Academy Award winner Life of Pi hits shelves today from Fox Home Entertainment, along with a regular Life of Pi Blu-ray release.

Fox also has the Lucasfilm title Willow and the biopic Hitchcock on Blu-ray this week.

Also on Blu-ray 3D this week is the animated Rise of the Guardians from DreamWorks Home Entertainment and Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has a bunch of new catalog titles this week, including the much anticipated Who Framed Roger RabbitMulan / Mulan II, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame: 2 Movie Collection.

Over to the indie releases, look for  Dave Grohl’s music documentary Sound City on Blu-ray from RCA this week.

The Criterion Collection has the original The Blob along with Fritz Lang’s Ministry of Fear this week while E1 Entertainment has Luis Buñuel’s Tristana.

On the television side, watch for BBC Home Video’s Ripper Street and the Anime series Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season Four from FUNimation Productions.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of January 28th, 2013

DowntonAbbeySeason3In a quiet week, the top title in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery is the fiercely popular British television drama Downton Abbey: Season 3 from PBS Home Video.

Also this week Warner Home Video is releasing the animated Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – Part 2, and a huge Best of Warner Bros.: 50 Film Collection box set with the best Warner titles from the past 70 years or so.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the animated Hotel Transylvania in 3D, also available in a regular Hotel Transylvania Blu-ray edition, and the crime comedy Seven Psychopaths this week.

Paramount Home Entertainment milks the franchise for another go around with Paranormal Activity 4, while Fox has a new Die Hard: 25th Anniversary Collection release.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is digging into the foreign catalog with the classic French title That Obscure Object of Desire this week.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment on the other hand has a collection of underwater Blu-ray 3D documentaries, including Amazing Ocean 3DFascination Coral Reef 3D, and Fascination Coral Reef: Mysterious Worlds Underwater 3D.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of January 14th, 2013

Taken2While the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of January 14th is a little thin, there are a surprisingly large number of interesting titles.

Top title is the action sequel Taken 2 from Fox Home Entertainment, though Fox also have a large list of classic titles.

Watch for John Ford’s How Green was My Valley, Elia Kazan’s Wild River and Gentleman’s Agreement, and the 1953 version of Titanic, all from Fox this week.

Other day and date titles this week include the horror movie The Possession from Lionsgate Home Entertainment and Woody Allen’s latest To Rome with Love from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

MGM Home Entertainment is taking advantage of the Sony release timing to issue two of their classic Woody Allen catalog movies with Sleeper and Hannah and Her Sisters this week.

Meanwhile Warner has the Ultimate Collector’s Edition of The Notebook through New Line Home Entertainment and the cult BBC television series Being Human: Season Four through BBC Home Video.

Check out Hitchcock’s original The Man Who Knew Too Much, along with the German film The Tin Drum, both new from Criterion Collection.

Other foreign titles of note include the critically acclaimed French movie Farewell, My Queen from the Cohen Media Group and seminal Australian film Wake in Fright from Image Entertainment.

There are also a number of Anime releases this week, including Persona 4: The Animation – Collection 2 from Section23 Films.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of December 17th, 2012

There are a number of late summer movies in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery in the last new release week before the holidays.

The title this week is Pitch Perfect from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the remake of Total Recall this week along with a DVD Combo version for Total Recall.

Sony also has Resident Evil: Retribution too this week, which also comes in a Resident Evil: Retribution Blu-ray 3D package.

The new Clint Eastwood movie Trouble with the Curve hits Blu-ray this week from Warner Home Video, who also have Shameless: The Complete Second Season, a Digibook release for Danny Kaye’s Hans Christian Andersen, and an individual releases for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies from New Line Home Entertainment.

Other day and date releases this week include Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days from Fox Home Entertainment and Killer Joe from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Indie releases this week include Sleepwalk with Me from MPI Home Video, and Paul Newman’s Sometimes a Great Notion and Ridley Scott’s first film The Duellists from Shout! Factory.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of December 10th, 2012

It is another week of strong titles with a view to Holiday season sales in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery this week.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the comedy Ted and the action sequel The Bourne Legacy on Blu-ray Disc this week.

The computer animated Ice Age: Continental Drift hits Blu-ray from Fox Home Entertainment this week, along with Ice Age: Continental Drift 3D in the Blu-ray 3D format.

In television watch for Futurama: Volume 7 from Fox and Girls: The Complete First Season from HBO Home Video.

Disney has Warren Beatty in Dick Tracy this week, along with The Joy Luck Club.

There are some great art house titles this week too, including The Qatsi Trilogy and Chris Nolan’s Following from Criterion Collection, and Bill Cunningham New York and Manufactured Landscapes from Zeitgeist Films.
