Ghostbusters 4kThe release week October 11th Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for 2016 features top title Ghostbusters from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

You will also find a premium release for Ghostbusters that includes both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray 3D formats.

Sony also has the Ron Howard / Tom Hanks films The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons on 4K Ultra HD this week, both with remastered Dolby Atmos audio.

Speaking of Atmos, the Warner Home Video title The Legend of Tarzan Blu-ray release features Dolby Atmos audio, as does the The Legend of Tarzan 3D and the 4K Ultra HD edition for The Legend of Tarzan.

Warner also has the animated television title Adventure Time: The Complete Sixth Season, the classic On Dangerous Ground from the Warner Archive Collection, and the Amazon exclusive Middle-Earth 6 Film Collection Limited Collector’s Edition from New Line Home Cinema this week.

Fox Home Entertainment’s big release is the animated sequel Ice Age: Collision Course, which is also available as a deluxe edition of Ice Age: Collision Course with Blu-ray 3D, and a 4K Ultra HD edition of Ice Age: Collision Course with Dolby Atmos audio.

Also watch for Blood Father and Glengarry Glen Ross on Blu-ray Disc from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Paramount Home Entertainment has the 70th Anniversary edition for It’s a Wonderful Life that features a colorized version along with the original black and white.

Horror specialists Shout! Factory have John Carpenter’s The Thing and Brian De Palma’s Carrie in Blu-ray Collector’s Editions this week.

Art house titles include McCabe & Mrs. Miller and BoyHood from the Criterion Collection, and French film Les Cowboys from Cohen Media.

Warner is also distributing the Paramount Home Entertainment title Vanilla Sky featuring Tom Cruise this week.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman in Last Knights, along with Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts in While We’re Young.

Watch for action title The Gunman from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, complete with Dolby Atmos audio, who also have Al Pacino in Danny Collins on Blu-ray this week.

Indie titles include the Penelope Spheeris music release The Decline of Western Civilization Collection from Shout! Factory, Russian film Hard to Be a God from Kino Lorber Incorporated, as well as Czech title Valerie and Her Week of Wonders and Jack Nicholson’s Five Easy Pieces from the Criterion Collection.

SurvivorA bit of a slow week in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of the June 22nd, with the Pierce Brosnan movie Survivor from Alchemy leading sales.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the latest in the American Girl series with Grace Stirs Up Success.

Indie titles include Dog Soldiers from Shout! Factory, 3-D Rarities from Flicker Alley, and German film The Bridge along with Terry Gilliam’s The Fisher King from Criterion Collection.

Television Blu-ray releases include the Comedy Central title Workaholics: Season Five from Paramount Home Entertainment and Ripper Street: Season Three from BBC Home Entertainment.

Universal also has the thriller The Loft this week, along with a collection of repackages including classics Double Indemnity, To Kill a Mockingbird and Touch of Evil, along with more recent titles like The Nutty Professor and Moonrise Kingdom.

Television titles this week include the mini-series Sons of Liberty from A&E Home Entertainment and the Showtime series Ray Donovan: Season Two from Showtime Entertainment.

The Criterion Collection has Costa-Gavras films State of Siege and The Confession, as well as the Fassbinder film The Merchant of Four Seasons on Blu-ray this week.

Interstellar Blu-ray DiscA number of great titles in the last Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the month of the March.

Chris Nolan’s latest SciFi epic Interstellar is the top Blu-ray title this week from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Alan Turing’s story The Imitation Game is a key new Blu-ray title from Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Reese Witherspoon’s movie Wild is on Blu-ray from Fox Home Entertainment.

Warner Home Video has a Diamond Luxe Edition for Gravity, complete with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and the IMAX movie Island of Lemurs: Madagascar that includes a Blu-ray 3D version.

Warner also have HBO releases for Veep: The Complete Third Season and Silicon Valley: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray this week.

Another television title this week is Nature: Owl Power from PBS Home Video.

The Criterion Collection has Ingmar Bergman’s Cries and Whispers and Hoop Dreams on Blu-ray Disc this week.

David Fincher’s latest movie Gone Girl is on Blu-ray this week from Fox Home Entertainment.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has Liam Neeson in A Walk Among the Tombstones and the direct to video The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power this week, along with some catalog repackages including Parenthood.

Warner has more television with the HBO Home Video title Boardwalk Empire: The Complete Fifth Season.

Low profile studio releases include Ira Sachs’ Love is Strange from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has some Miramax catalog releases, including My Left FootMarvin’s Room and Jim Jarmusch’s Dead Man on Blu-ray this week.

MGM Home Entertainment has a new edition for Kevin Kostner’s Dances with Wolveswhile Kino Lorber Incorporated has catalog titles River’s Edge and At the Earth’s Core.

Indie titles include the German film Wetlands from Strand Releasing, and The Two Faces of January and Honeymoon from Magnolia Home Entertainment.

Indie catalog titles and classics include The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant from Criterion Collection, Capricorn One from Timeless Media and Fitzcarraldo from Shout! Factory.


Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of November 3rd, 2014

MaleficentIt is a big Blu-ray release week, as evidenced in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of the November 3rd, 2014.

Top title this week is Maleficent from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, who also have the animated titles Planes: Fire & Rescue and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas / Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas this week.

It is also a big week for Hobbit fans with the extended edition of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 3D from New Line Home Entertainment.

Other Warner distributed titles include HBO releases The Newsroom: The Complete Second Season and The Sopranos: The Complete Series as well as BBC releases Sherlock Limited Edition Gift Set and Doctor Who: The Complete Matt Smith Years.

Paramount Home Entertainment’s big release is of course Hercules, with a Blu-ray 3D Hercules 3D edition to boot.

Watch for A Most Wanted Man and Step Up All In from Lionsgate Home Entertainment – the latter being Lionsgate’s first Dolby Atmos title.

Universal has a new collection of steel-book releases, including An American Werewolf in LondonPsychoThe Big LebowskiScarfaceShaun of the DeadThe Blues Brothers, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

The studio also has special editions of Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 that feature ‘Minion’ Christmas ornaments.

Sony Pictures has Land Ho! on Blu-ray this week.

Indie titles include the documentary The Dog from Cinedigm, Style Wars from Public Art Films, and Man of the West from Kino Lorber Incorporated.

Christmas title Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer from Anderson Merchandisers features a 50th Anniversary Edition of the classic television movie.

Acorn Media has the final Agatha Christie’s Poirot: Series 13, along with compilation releases Agatha Christie’s Poirot: Complete Cases Collection and Agatha Christie’s Poirot: The Final Cases Collection on Blu-ray this week.

SnowpiercerA bit of a quiet week in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of the October 20th, 2014.

The top title for the week is the Sci-Fi thriller Snowpiercer from Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment are cashing in with the television release Mad Men: The Final Season – Part 1, with apparently the second part to come later.

Universal has the crime thriller The Purge: Anarchy on Blu-ray this week while Fox goes with the family title Earth to Echo.

On the slightly raunchier side, watch for Sex Tape from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Another interesting television title is Pee-wee’s Playhouse: The Complete Series from Shout! Factory.

For classics and indie films, watch for Orson Welles’ F for Fake and Fellini’s La Dolce Vita from Criterion Collection, the documentary Los Angeles Plays Itself from Cinema Guild, and the classic Noir Possessed from Warner Archive Collection.
