CloudAtlasThe Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of May 13th features some great new releases, including the epic Wachowski sibling movie Cloud Atlas from Warner Home Video.

Showtime Entertainment has the latest Dexter: The Seventh Season on Blu-ray this week.

The Texas Chainsaw 3D remake is also out this week in the Blu-ray 3D format from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the first of their ‘Mastered in 4K’ series with extended colour gamut, which includes the classic comedy Ghostbusters, Sam Raimi’s Spider-ManThe Amazing Spider-Man, Scorcese’s Taxi Driver, Da Vinci Code sequel Angels & Demons, the remake of The Karate Kid and crime comedy The Other Guys.

The Criterion Collection has a couple of classic western’s this week, with Jubal and the original 3:10 to Yuma.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of March 11th, 2013

LifeofPi3DThere are a bunch of hot new titles in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of March 11th 2013.

The Blu-ray 3D release for Academy Award winner Life of Pi hits shelves today from Fox Home Entertainment, along with a regular Life of Pi Blu-ray release.

Fox also has the Lucasfilm title Willow and the biopic Hitchcock on Blu-ray this week.

Also on Blu-ray 3D this week is the animated Rise of the Guardians from DreamWorks Home Entertainment and Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has a bunch of new catalog titles this week, including the much anticipated Who Framed Roger RabbitMulan / Mulan II, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame: 2 Movie Collection.

Over to the indie releases, look for  Dave Grohl’s music documentary Sound City on Blu-ray from RCA this week.

The Criterion Collection has the original The Blob along with Fritz Lang’s Ministry of Fear this week while E1 Entertainment has Luis Buñuel’s Tristana.

On the television side, watch for BBC Home Video’s Ripper Street and the Anime series Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season Four from FUNimation Productions.

GameofThronesTheCompleteSecondSeasonQuite a few highly anticipated titles in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of February 18th 2013.

The wait is over for the Game of Thrones: The Complete Second Season release from HBO Home Video this week.

Warner Home Video has Ben Affleck’s award winning Argo this week, along with catalog releases for Easter Parade and Best in Show.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the SyFy channel show Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome on Blu-ray this week.

We have a new Blu-ray 3D edition of Monsters, Inc. from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, along with a new Monsters, Inc. regular Blu-ray release and the catalog title The Insider.

Speaking of Blu-ray 3D, watch for Top Gun in a Limited 3D Edition 3D conversion from Paramount Home Entertainment.

MGM Home Entertainment has a remaster for the original The Terminator, while those who like classics should look for On the Waterfront from the Criterion Collection and Thief of Bagdad from Cohen Media Group.

This week also sees a Blu-ray release for the Academy Award winning documentary Undefeated from Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of January 28th, 2013

DowntonAbbeySeason3In a quiet week, the top title in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery is the fiercely popular British television drama Downton Abbey: Season 3 from PBS Home Video.

Also this week Warner Home Video is releasing the animated Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – Part 2, and a huge Best of Warner Bros.: 50 Film Collection box set with the best Warner titles from the past 70 years or so.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the animated Hotel Transylvania in 3D, also available in a regular Hotel Transylvania Blu-ray edition, and the crime comedy Seven Psychopaths this week.

Paramount Home Entertainment milks the franchise for another go around with Paranormal Activity 4, while Fox has a new Die Hard: 25th Anniversary Collection release.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is digging into the foreign catalog with the classic French title That Obscure Object of Desire this week.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment on the other hand has a collection of underwater Blu-ray 3D documentaries, including Amazing Ocean 3DFascination Coral Reef 3D, and Fascination Coral Reef: Mysterious Worlds Underwater 3D.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of December 10th, 2012

It is another week of strong titles with a view to Holiday season sales in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery this week.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has the comedy Ted and the action sequel The Bourne Legacy on Blu-ray Disc this week.

The computer animated Ice Age: Continental Drift hits Blu-ray from Fox Home Entertainment this week, along with Ice Age: Continental Drift 3D in the Blu-ray 3D format.

In television watch for Futurama: Volume 7 from Fox and Girls: The Complete First Season from HBO Home Video.

Disney has Warren Beatty in Dick Tracy this week, along with The Joy Luck Club.

There are some great art house titles this week too, including The Qatsi Trilogy and Chris Nolan’s Following from Criterion Collection, and Bill Cunningham New York and Manufactured Landscapes from Zeitgeist Films.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of October 22nd, 2012

Certainly a diverse range of Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D releases in the Cover Art Gallery for the week of the of October 22nd.

The top new title this week is the Steven Soderbergh movie Magic Mike from Warner Home Video, which is loosely based on Channing Tatum’s experiences as a male stripper.

Warner is also celebrating the SciFi classic Blade Runner with a Digibook release for the movie, as well as a new Blade Runner 30th Anniversary Collector’s Edition with a whole swag of new goodies inside.

Lastly watch for the television release Star Wars: The Clone Wars – The Complete Season Four from Warner Home Video this week.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is taking its commitment to Blu-ray 3D seriously with the Blu-ray 3D release of the Tinkerbell family title Secret of the Wings.

Universal meanwhile has Keira Knightley and Steve Carell in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World in stores this week.

Over to Blu-ray 3D again, Fox Home Entertainment has both the new release Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and the new 3D conversion for Will Smith film I, Robot in new Blu-ray 3D releases.

MGM Home Entertainment appears to have taken over the distribution rights for recent Bond movies Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale, and has fresh releases for them this week.

Doors fans will be excited to see The Doors: Live at the Bowl ’68 from Eagle Rock Entertainment.

For fans of art house and classic titles, watch for Take This Waltz from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Stanley Kubrick’s first feature Fear and Desire from Kino Lorber, miniseries Apocalypse: Hitler from E1 Entertainment and Sunday Bloody Sunday  from The Criterion Collection.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of October 1st, 2012

I see a lot of interesting titles in the Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the first week of October.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has another classic animation this week with Cinderella in multiple versions, including a Cinderella: 6 Disc Trilogy Gift Set.

Warner Home Video has Tim Burton’s latest movie Dark Shadows on Blu-ray this week, with a DVD Copy and UltraViolet copy code included.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment is breaking out the monster classics in Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection.

MGM Home Entertainment has a few re-releases this week, including a new 25th Anniversary release for The Princess Bride, and 50th Anniversary James Bond repackages including ThunderballDr. NoDie Another Day and The World is Not Enough.

Over on the independent releases, look for popular BBC show Downton Abbey Seasons 1 & 2 from PBS Home Video, In the Mood for Love from Criterion Collection, as well as French film Train of Life and South American film The Milk of Sorrow from Olive Films.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of September 24th, 2012

We have some key releases in a ‘better late then never’ Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of September 24th.

Top title for perhaps even the year is the Blu-ray 3D release for Marvel’s The Avengers from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, with a Marvel’s The Avengers regular Blu-ray release also available.

This release could well set records for Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D with strong discounting at key online and brick and mortar stores.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment also has spider thriller Arachnophobia on Blu-ray this week.

This week also sees the release of the highly anticipated Bond 50: Celebrating Five Decades of Bond box set from MGM Home Entertainment.

Warner Home Video is releasing the animated super hero title Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – Part 1 this week, along with catalog title The American President.

Television title American Horror Story: The Complete First Season hits shelves this week from Fox Home Entertainment.

Over to art house releases, watch for historically significant This is Cinerama from Flicker Alley, Eating Raoul from The Criterion Collection, Danish movie Klown from Image Entertainment and German documentary Gerhard Richter Painting from Kino Lorber Incorporated.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of September 10th, 2012

We have a fairly epic Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of the September 10th!

Top dog this week is Snow White and the Huntsman from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, which is perhaps most famous for the affair between the director and lead actress!

Warner Home Video has two popular television releases this week, with The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Fifth Season and The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Third Season.

Top catalog title has to be the Blu-ray 3D release for Titanic from Paramount Home Entertainment, who also have a regular Titanic Blu-ray, horror title The Ring, classic comedies Airplane! and The Naked Gun, as well as Tom Cruise in The Firm.

Nicely timed with the Titanic release is the Blu-ray 3D release for James Cameron’s Titanic documentary Ghosts of the Abyss 3D from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the Week of July 16th, 2012

We have a mixed and varied Blu-ray Cover Art Gallery for the week of the July 16th 2012.

Top honors goes to the classic catalog title Singin’ in the Rain from Warner Home Video, which was also released as a Singin’ in the Rain (Ultimate Collector’s Edition) for the 60th anniversary.

Warner has a number of other catalog titles this week including the Scorcese film Mean Streets.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has a couple of smaller Day and Date titles this week with Lockout and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

Meanwhile Fox Home Entertainment has the remake of The Three Stooges and Mel Gibson in Get the Gringo.

Some classics hit the format this week too, including the 1956 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and western classic High Noon.

For foreign and art house, look for The Turin Horse from Cinema Guild, Jim Jarmusch’s Down by Law from the Criterion Collection, Dirty Pretty Things from Echo Bridge Home Entertainment and French movie The Fairy from Kino Lorber Incorporated.
