November 5th, 2013 will be a special date for James Dean fans, with the new Warner Home Video Blu-ray release of the extensively featured James Dean Ultimate Collector’s Edition.

The box set includes James Dean films East of Eden, Giant and Rebel Without a Cause, which all get separate Digibook releases on the same day.

The set will be a limited and numbered six-disc set that also includes three feature-length documentaries about Dean’s life.

Packaged in a double-wide gift set, the collection also contains a 48-page photo book with behind-the-scene images and rare insight into each film.

All of the films have been restored and mastered from new 4K transfers.

The cast for these films include Julie Harris, Raymond Massey, Richard Davalos, Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, Natalie Wood, and Sal Mineo.

Planned features for the films include 1080p encoding and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio with 5.1 for East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause and 2.0 for Giant.

There are of course an abundant pile of supplements here, including commentaries, documentaries, interviews, deleted scenes and trailers.
