Iron Man 3 has just been announced by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment for release on Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D September 24th, 2013.
It is the seventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the first major release in the franchise since the crossover film The Avengers.
Robert Downey, Jr. reprises his role as the title character, and the cast additionally features Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak and James Badge Dale.
The film received predominantly positive reviews, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 78%, and an IMDb score of 7.6/10.
Iron Man 3 was a huge success in the cinema, reaching $404M at the US box office.
Planned features for the disc include an 1080p encode presented at 1.85:1, and supplements are expected to include featurettes, deleted scenes, a gag reel, audio commentary and a sneak preview of the next Thor movie.
The retail price is $49.99, or pre-order it from Amazon for $44.99, though I expect that price will come down.
Alternatively you can add it to your Blu-rayStats Wishlist.
If you can do without the 3D, the regular Blu-ray retail is $44.99, or pre-order it from Amazon for $31.49, saving 30%!
