Monsters, Inc.

While still in cinemas, Monsters, Inc. has just been announced by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment for release on Blu-ray 3D on February 19th, 2013.

In this family film, monsters¬†generate their city’s power by scaring children, though are afraid of being contaminated by humans.

So when a human child enters Monstropolis, chaos ensues.

I saw the film just yesterday, and was pleased to be reminded of how great it is.

Pixar has also done a great job with the 3D rendering for the film.

The voice cast for the film includes John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Jennifer Tilly, Steve Buscemi and James Coburn.

Monsters, Inc. was directed by Pete Docter, David Silverman and Lee Unkrich.

Reviews for the movie were excellent, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 96%, and an IMDb score of 8/10.

Watch for the disc to include an MVC 1080p 3D encode presented at 1.85:1, with lossless Dolby True HD with 7.1 channels and coded for All Regions.

Also expect a Digital Copy for both iTunes and Windows Media is included with his release.

The retail price is $49.99, or pre-order it from Amazon for $44.99, saving 10%, though I would expect this price to drop before release.

Alternatively you can add it to your Blu-rayStats Wishlist.

Experience the film that captured the hearts of critics and fans around the world in a breathtaking new way. Monsters, Inc. is “visually dazzling, action-packed and hilarious,” raves The Boston Herald. Lovable Sulley (John Goodman) and his wisecracking sidekick Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) are the top scare team at Monster, Inc., the scream-processing factory in Monstropolis. When a little girl named Boo wanders into their world, it’s the monsters who are scared silly, and it’s up to Sulley and Mike to keep her out of sight and get her back home. Open the door to a phenomenal world of excitement and imagination that will have you screaming for more. Loaded with sensational bonus features, including the theatrical short “Partysaurus Rex,” Monsters, Inc. is hours of fantastic family fun.
