Paramount Home Entertainment recently announced the upcoming Blu-ray release of Eddie Murphy’s latest comedy A Thousand Words for June 26th, 2012.

In the movie Murphy’s character is a literary agent who is cursed by a self help guru named Dr. Sinja to die after uttering a thousand words.

Along with Eddie Murphy, the cast includes the likes of Kerry Washington, Cliff Curtis, Clark Duke, Allison Janney, Ruby Dee and John Witherspoon.

A Thousand Words was directed by Brian Robbins, the man behind Murphy films Norbit and Meet Dave, as well as Varsity Blues.

The movie was universally panned by critics – it earned a Rotten Tomatoes score of 0% while at the IMDb it received a score of 4.4/10.

A Thousand Words earned $18.2M at the US box office.

Planned features for the disc include a 1080p video encode, along with a lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack.

This release also includes deleted scenes and an alternate ending, as well as an UltraViolet digital copy code.
