Tranformers 2 Blu-ray Tops the Sales Chart for the Second Week

The market share for Blu-ray versus DVD was 13%, and Blu-ray revenue reached $26.52M for the week ending November 1st, according to Home Media Magazine.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen from Paramount/DreamWorks took 1st place ahead of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs from Fox in 2nd position.
Disney had a good week with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 3rd place and Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure in 4th.
Battlestar Galactica: The Plan from Universal rounded out the top five while another new release Orphan from Warner took 6th place.
The top 10 was rounded out by X-Men Origins: Wolverine from Fox in 7th, The Proposal from Disney in 8th, Monsters vs. Aliens from Paramount/DreamWorks in 9th and The Dark Knight from Warner in 10th position.
Ice Age: The Meltdown from Fox got a boost from the new sequel release to take 18th place.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen sold 24% on Blu-ray Disc while the original Transformers took 19% market share for Blu-ray Disc.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs had 11%, similar to Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure with 9% and Orphan with 10% market share on Blu-ray Disc.
Strong sellers included the newly released Battlestar Galactica: The Plan with 25% market share and X-Men Origins: Wolverine with 29% of its sales on Blu-ray Disc.
Of course not all genres sell well for Blu-ray - Nothing Like the Holidays from Anchor Bay had only 2% for Blu-ray Disc.
