Today I am highlighting the first in a series of Paramount titles that came out this week - DreamWorks Home Entertainment release Old School.

The Blu-ray release of Old School features an Unrated cut of the movie - great for those who don’t want the MPAA deciding what is ok for them to watch.

Old School has a great cast, including Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Juliette Lewis, Jeremy Piven, Ellen Pompeo, Elisha Cuthbert and Seann William Scott.

In the five years since Old School was in cinemas, Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn have become huge in comedy movies.

Old School was directed by Todd Phillips, who also directed Road Trip, the Starsky and Hutch remake, School for Scoundrels and apparently an Old School sequel due out next year.

The movie was fairly well received by critics - it earned a Rotten Tomatoes score of 59% and IMDb score of 7/10.

Old School had a decent run in the cinema, reaching $75.6M at the US box office.

The video on the disc is an AVC 1080p encode at 32 Mbps, and is presented in its original aspect ratio of 2.35:1.

The main audio is lossless Dolby True HD with 5.1 channels - 16 bits resolution at 48 kHz.

The disc is a dual layer BD50, with 30.4 GB used and is coded for all regions.

The supplements cover the usual audio commentary, deleted scenes and bloopers, but also includes a spoof of Inside the Actors Studio, a number of TV spots, the original Trailer and a couple of Easter Eggs for good measure.

Looks like an excellent release from Paramount Home Entertainment for Old School.
