I see over at Twice that Denon is planning a ‘universal’ player, that covers Blu-ray as well as the ‘zombie’ formats DVD-Audio and SACD.

The DVD-A1UCDI will be BD-Live-ready,  and is planned to ship in February with a $3,800 suggested retail.

Ah yes, a tad on the expensive side.

While it does have a lot of great features and covers all the bases, I can’t see it being a main stream competitor at that price.

However for those who a looking for a high end player with added compatibility for high end audio formats, this looks like a good choice.
