The reality is though that both of the current models should be capable with a firmware upgrade - that doesn't mean that Sony will do it - but it is not impossible. I guess it is slightly more likely that the BDP-S550 will be more capable since it may have more memory or more capable CPU... but realistically I kinda doubt that Sony would add such a nice feature for free via a firmware upgrade. If it is a strong need you are probably best to stick with the ones that claim the capability. I am not aware of any Sony plans to support streaming from the likes of Netflix.
