Disney Dominates Blu-ray Stats User Top 10

When I wanted to make a list of my Blu-ray Discs and created the My Blu-ray Stats feature, I thought it would be fun to see how a Top 100 chart based on the titles listed in the users’ collections would look.
Initially the list showed a lot of surprises, but after the bug was fixed, the User Top 100 seems pretty reasonable.
What is really interesting to me though is how much the top 10 title list is dominated by Disney releases.
Warner of course has a couple of titles in there with the popular I am Legend and 300 releases, and Sony has Casino Royale - otherwise Disney owns the Top 10.
The number one title amongst our users is Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, with the sequels Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in third place and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End in fourth.
Disney clearly made a wise decision to release these titles fairly early on in the format time line.
Of course the Pixar releases are another key aspect for Disney, with Ratatouille 5th in the chart and Cars 6th equal with 300 and Casino Royale, as well two other Disney titles National Treasure: Book of Secrets and No Country for Old Men.
I think that the variety of quality titles Disney has offered, along with the timeliness of the releases has contributed to this domination of our users’ collections.
Looking at the overall chart, Warner comes out the winner with over 1/4 of the top 100 titles, followed closely by Sony with 24 titles, Disney with 20 and Fox with 18.
It is interesting that the top 100 lacks titles like Iron Man, and any title from Universal - perhaps we just need to update our collections!
Currently the User Top 100 chart is derived from around 30 user collections - if you want your collection to influence our Top 100, feel free to join up for My Blu-ray Stats and enter your collection.
