Fearless, Pink Panther and Zodiac Headed to Blu-ray

fearless.jpgUniversal and Paramount continue to catch up with titles previously released on HD DVD with today’s new listings.

Universal Home Video will be releasing Jet Li’s Fearless on Blu-ray Disc on December 9th, 2008.

The retail price is $29.98, get it at Amazon for only $21.95.

Paramount Home Video has announced Zodiac for Blu-ray on January 27th, 2009.

Being a big fan of David Fincher’s movies, I have been eagerly awaiting for this announcement.

Retail will be $36.99, the Amazon price - only $26.95.

Fox Home Entertainment is planning to release the Diane Lane movie Unfaithful on January 20th, 2009.

Retail is set at $34.99, pre-order at Amazon for only $25.95.

The Antwone Fisher Story, featuring and directed by Denzel Washington, has also been listed by Fox Home Entertainment for a January 20th release.

Retail has been set at $34.99, bargain hunters will find it at Amazon for only $25.95.

MGM Entertainment has announced the release of Pink Panther, also for January 27th, 2009.

This is the original Peter Sellers Pink Panther movie from 1963.

Retail for this one is $39.99, at Amazon for only $29.95.

Fox Home Entertainment also has Drumline coming on January 27th, 2009. Retail will be $34.99, only $25.95 at Amazon.

It is interesting to see that while Fox has largely adopted the $35 price point for catalog releases, the MGM title remains at $40 retail.

Bel Air Classiques has announced Wagner: Die Walkure for Blu-ray on November 11th, 2008.

Retail will be $51.98, only $38.95 at Amazon.

Bel Air Classiques also has Tchaikovsky Gala coming to Blu-ray on November 11th. The retail price is $50.98, you can pre-order it at Amazon for only $37.95.

Over to imports, Infernal Affairs 3 has been freshly listed by 101 Distribution, scheduled for a October 14th, 2008 release.

The retail price will be $44.49, pre-order at Amazon for $32.95.

    Zodiac on Blu-ray (finally!) IS good news. Hopefully Sony will soon announce Fincher’s Panic Room for the Blu. And the Panther in Pink. Very nice. Maybe we’ll get Shot in the Dark & the rest of these Blake Edwards classics in ‘09…

    Fight Club is the key title for me - Fox I guess. That sound track in DTS-HD MA would be killer

    Se7en would be good too - I think that is New Line. So maybe DTS-HD MA for that one too…
