Looks like it is vigilante day for Blu-ray today, with the listings of The Dark Knight and Dexter Season 1.

Warner Home Video has announced The Dark Knight for Blu-ray on December 9th, 2008 - complete with BD Live features and a Digital Copy.

Of course this Chris Nolan directed film is the top box office movie for the year and it is expected to set new records for sales on the Blu-ray format.

Retail will be $35.99, the Amazon price - only $26.95.

Dexter: The Complete First Season will be released by Paramount Home Video on January 6th, 2009.

I missed this on Showtime, refused to watch ‘cut for TV’ on CBS, so this addition is something I have been looking forward to.

The retail price for the 12 episode set is $54.99, you can pre-order it at Amazon for only $40.95.

Paramount Home Video has also announced the direct to disc release of Without a Paddle: Nature’s Calling for January 13th, 2009.

Apparently this sequel had to do without the original cast.

The retail price is $36.99, you can pre-order it at Amazon for only $26.95.

Stargate fans will be pleased to see Stargate - The Ark of Truth has been freshly listed by Fox/MGM, scheduled for a January 13th, 2009 release. The retail price is $34.99, you can pre-order it at Amazon for only $25.95.

Fox/MGM has also announced The Boondock Saints for Blu-ray on January 13th, 2009. Retail has been set at $34.99, bargain hunters will find it at Amazon for only $25.95.

Sony is planning to release Look Alive on December 9th, 2008. The retail price is $29.98, you can pre-order it at Amazon for only $21.95.

Vivendi Entertainment is planning to release One Long Night on February 17th, 2009.

Retail will be $29.99, only $21.95 at Amazon.

Animalia: Talent-O-Topia has been freshly listed by PorchLight Home Entertainment, scheduled for a January 20th, 2009 release.

Retail has been set at $29.98, find it at Amazon for only $21.95.

On to bundles - Walt Disney Video is planning to release The Chronicles of Narnia Blu-ray Bundle on December 2nd, 2008.

Retail will be $70.98, the Amazon price - only $47.90.

Also, from Universal Studios I see the Amazon.com Exclusive Heroes Blu-ray Franchise Collection on on November 4th, 2008 - featuring both seasons of the popular TV show.

Retail will be $169.96, the Amazon price - only $126.95.
