I read over at Video Business that Sony is starting a rewards program for users of their BD Live enabled Blu-ray Discs.

I guess we should not at all be surprised by this as the connectivity allows companies like Sony to effectively track the purchases of their customers in return for some ‘added values’.

Once you register you get credits for Sony BD Live titles you purchase.

While some may prefer to keep their purchasing habits private, I am sure that many will see benefit in a loyalty rewards program like this and perhaps this kind of information sharing will help Sony to better tailor their releases according to the needs of their customers.
