New Line’s recent 3D movie, Journey to the Center of the earth has been listed for Blu-ray release on October 28th, 2008.

The Blu-ray will be a limted edition that features both 2D and 3D versions.

Retail is set at  $35.99, Amazon lists it for $26.95.

In other great news I read that Sony is planning to release two more of Luc Besson’s movies on Blu-ray this year.

While we already saw a European release of Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, Sony is also planning the release this title in the USA on Blu-ray Disc on December 2nd, 2008.

The retail price will be the usual Sony catalog price - $28.95.

The best news though is that Sony is also planning to release one of my favourite films ever, Nikita. The release will be under the US title for the movie, La Femme Nikita and will also be released on December 2nd with retail 28.95.

Personally I can’t wait! I will be sure to let you know when I see pre-orders for these ones listed.

Now we just need Leon (The Professional) and Subway to make up the set!
