September is going to be a great month for Blu-ray Disc releases - watch for an article soon highlighting what to expect!
For this week, Warner is kicking it off with a number of new catalogue releases, which interestingly enough are already one sale at over 45% off at Amazon!
Clint Eastwood fans will be happy to see the release of Every Which Way But Loose ($15.45) and The Gauntlet (also $15.45).
Other Warner Home Video action releases include Eraser ($15.45), Outbreak ($14.95) and Under Siege 2 - Dark Territory, which is $15.45 at Amazon.
Perhaps the big title of the week is the Paramount release of Michael Bay’s Transformers, which is available for $24.95 at Amazon.
This title was one of the main ingredients in the HD DVD plan for domination, and with such a large delay for the Blu-ray release it will be interesting to see how well it does.
On the plus side, there is a bigger install base than there was last year, but on the other hand, many already own the DVD.
On the down side, it appears that the rumoured new VC-1 encode of the movie with grain intact is not included - it does have a fresh AVC encode however.
Lions Gate is releasing the martial arts movie Black Mask, featuring Jet Li ($20.95 at Amazon).
Lions Gate is also releasing the animated super-hero titles The Invincible Iron Man ($18.95) and The Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow ($18.95).
Sony Pictures is releasing Married Life, $26.95 at Amazon.
Starz/Anchor Bay Entertainment is releasing Masters of Horror Bundle, containing all four of the Masters of Horror titles, available for only $59.99 at Amazon.
ThinkFilm is releasing Then She Found Me, a film made by Helen Hunt, which is available for $19.95 at Amazon.
Funimation is releasing more Anime in the form of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles Collector’s Edition - $20.95 at Amazon.
Lastly, Lichtung Media Ltd. is releasing more ‘moving wallpaper’. Marine Aquarium is $16.95 at Amazon.
