American Gangster, Casino, Eastern Promises and Universal Soldier on Blu-ray Disc

American Gangster will be released by Universal Home Video on October 14th, 2008. This Ridley Scott film will be presented with both the Theatrical (158mins) and Extended (177mins) versions on the disc.

Retail will be $29.98, only $20.95 at Amazon.

The classic Scorsese film Casino has also been also scheduled for an October 14th release. Retail will be $29.98, the Amazon price - only $20.95.

Lastly Universal Home Video is planning to release Eastern Promises on October 14th, 2008.

This David Cronenberg movie features excellent performances from Viggo Mortensen, Vincent Cassel and Naomi Watts. A must have disc for me personally.

The retail price is $29.98, you can pre-order it at Amazon for only $20.95.

If like me you are interested in all three of these movies, keep an eye out for the expected box set.

Lions Gate Home Entertainment will be releasing the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Universal Soldier on Blu-ray Disc on November 4th, 2008. Retail will be $29.99, only $20.95 at Amazon.

Arts Magic is releasing Malice@Doll on October 28th, 2008. The retail price will be $34.95, pre-order at Amazon for $23.99.

Arts Magic also has Bird People in China coming to Blu-ray on October 28th. Again, retail is set at $34.95, pre-order at Amazon for only $23.95.

Great to see another small distributor planning titles.

BMG/ Arista appears to have a trio of Asian movies, perhaps imported discs, coming on September 9th, 2008.

The titles are Exiled (retail $36.99, Amazon $24.95), An Empress and the Warrriors (retail $49.99, Amazon $34.95) andTae Guk Gi-Brotherhood of War (retail $45.99, Amazon $31.95).

Africas Super Seven will be released by Razor Digital Entertainment/Magic Play on October 21st, 2008. The retail price will be $24.99, pre-order at Amazon for $16.95.
