Japan Moto Show, Sin City, From Dusk Till Dawn and Monsters Ball Destined for Blu-ray Disc

Posted in Amazon Pre-orders, Studios, US Releases on August 14th, 2008 by Dave

sincity.jpg I have a few interesting titles to talk about today, including release dates for some great movies.

Topics Entertainment is releasing Tokyo Moto Show on June 30th, 2008.

Retail will be $14.99, the Amazon price - only $9.95.

Perhaps cashing in on Heath Ledger mania, Lionsgate is to release the Oscar-winning drama Monster’s Ball, starring Heath Ledger and Halle Berry, on Blu-ray on November 4th priced at $29.99.

Extras will include commentary from the director and writers, two featurettes (On the Set and Music for the Film), director and cast interviews, Behind the Scenes With Producer Lee Daniels and deleted scenes.

Lastly apparently two Robert Rodriguez movies have shown up for pre-order at some retailers. Sin City and From Dusk Till Dawn are scheduled for release October 21st.

I am a big fan of Rodriguez and his work, and am especially looking forward to Sin City on Blu-ray Disc.

Additionally, pre-orders are stating the release date for Dark Knight as December 9th.

Keep in mind that retailers are not always correct with these things, so treat these dates as ‘rumour level’ accurate.

Update: Digital Bits is stating that this is not correct and that they have been pushed to 2009.

I will be sure to post updates for these titles and release dates.

The Dec. 9 date for Dark Knight would be about right, so this date might be accurate, unless box office continues at such a blistering pace that it’s still in theaters then! Glad to see the weird From Dusk Til Dawn listing - might pick up this one just to see Tarantino & Clooney as sibling criminals. Still waiting for Lionsgate to announce the Johnny Depp/Roman Polanski movie Ninth Gate for Blu-ray..come on, LG, get this one in the works!

I still have not forgiven them for starting a high end collection with no Blu-ray versions. I want Diva, dammit!
