I see that on the Balance Audio site they are listing a Yamaha Blu-ray player for release in the November time frame.

The specifications don’t reveal anything too special - it looks like the player will be Bonus View (Profile 1.1) capable and will be able to bitstream all of the codecs - it is not clear what it will be capable of decoding internally.

The unit lists an SDHC slot allowing personal video and photo playback at 1080p. The unit also features RS232 control, making it suitable for custom installs - in general I get the feeling that this player is targeting the higher end of the market.

In any case it is great to see more choices becoming available in the Blu-ray player market.
