I read over at DVD Times today that Warner have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of Casablanca in an Ultimate Collector’s Edition on December 2nd 2008, priced at $64.99.

This is one that many have been waiting for after the initial Hi Def release was HD DVD exclusive.

All of the content of the Special Edition DVD and HD DVD editions will be included, with the addition of a documentary on the life of Jack Warner. The set will be elegantly boxed in an intricate Moroccan design and will include collectibles.

Extras include an introduction by Lauren Bacall, Commentaries by Roger Ebert and film historian Rudy Behlmer, featurettes, a Production history gallery, Deleted scenes, Outtakes, Trailers and the 1995 WB Cartoon: Carrotblanca.

A second disc will contain the 1993 documentary: Jack L. Warner: The Last Mogul .

Currently no regular release has been announced.
