Blu-ray Market Share Down a Little for the Week Ending July 20th

The Market Share of the Blu-ray top 20 titles versus DVD top 20 slipped to 8 percent this week, as reported by Home Media Magazine. Not that this is a bad market share per se - we have seen the market share wafting between 7 and 12 in recent times. The revenue of $7.61M is down 9.58% from last week.
Batman Begins remains a strong title, forcing The Bank Job to settle for second place. The top 5 was rounded out by a cluster of three titles, Batman Gotham Knight, Step Up 2: The Streets and Jumper, which sold roughly a quarter of Batman Begins numbers. Shutter and College Road Trip managed 11th and 12th place respectively. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest came in at 19th place - perhaps not so bad for a catalog title.
For the per title market share, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest led the way with over 57% sold on Blu-ray. Batman Begins and Cloverfield managed roughly 1/3 market share, Hitman and Rambo had roughly a quarter while Jumper and Casino Royale managed over 20%.
Recent titles The Ruins, Batman Gotham Knight and The Bank Job each sold over 11% sold on Blu-ray Disc - Shutter was closer to 5%, Step Up 2: The Streets managed just over 2% while College Road Trip managed just under 1.5%.
