Import Watch UK: The Dark Knight, Get Smart, Matrix Trilogy and Speed Racer get Release Dates for Blu-ray

darkknight.jpgWarner has some significant new listings for the UK today

The much anticipated Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight has been listed for December 1st, 2008.

Also eagerly awaited is the Blu-ray release of the Matrix Trilogy - The Matrix/Matrix Reloaded/Matrix Revolutions is listed for November 17th, 2008, a week earlier than the French release. It will be interesting to see when Warner is planning to release this in the USA.

Another Wachowski Brothers release is Speed Racer, due December 1st, 2008.

TV show remake Get Smart featuring Steve Carell is scheduled for December 8th, 2008. Also from Warner, The Perfect Storm on November 3rd, 2008.

Optimum Home Entertainment is planning a couple of titles for from on September 1st, 2008. Rise Of The Footsoldier and believe it or not Night Of The Living Dead are planned for that date.

Lastly I see The Game Plan coming from Disney on July 14th, 2008

    Dave, do you think “The Dark Knight” will get a December BD release in the states?

    I can’t imagine the UK preceding the US release date for Dark Knight or Matrix (or Speed Racer or Get Smart) - so perhaps we should consider these dates the latest we might expect to see them in the USA…

    Of course, Sony and Disney have both released stuff in the UK before the US street dates… so nothing is set in stone.
