Universal Studios is planning to release some more of their action films from their vault on Blu-ray Disc. DVD Times is reporting that Universal will release an Action Starter Set containing U-571, End of Days and Miami Vice - at the nice price of $59.98. The discs will also be available separately for $29.98 - you effectively get one for free in the action pack. Release date will be August 26th, 2008.

All releases will feature an audio commentary and English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Miami Vice and U-571 will also have Picture in Picture features.

Miami Vice will be the 120-minute Director’s Version of the film and will be presented on a BD50 disc, perhaps due to the inclusion of four production featurettes.

All three titles were released on HD DVD, though it is interesting that Universal has employed DTS-HD Master Audio where the HD DVDs were Dolby Digital Plus, or in the case of End of Days, Dolby True HD.
