Import Watch France: French Crime Thrillers for Blu-ray

rivieres.jpgWe see three new crime thrillers listed for release in France - all of them actually French movies!

Les rivieres pourpres from Sony/Gaumont is scheduled for release on August 21st, 2008. This title features a couple of my favourite French actors - Jean Reno and Vincent Cassel.

Also from Sony/Gaumont, 36 quai des orfevres is scheduled for September 23th, 2008. This one features Daniel Auteuil and Gérard Depardieu, directed by Olivier Marchal.

From the same director as 36 quai des orfevres, recent French movie Mr 73 again features Daniel Auteuil and will also scheduled for release on September 23th, 2008.

It is great to see that French movies are getting released in France. I am hoping for English language support, which may be included if these discs are targeted for the greater EU, depending on distribution rights.
