Lord of the Rings is certainly a key title and one would hope that it is done right in every sense. Seeing New Line use branching on Dark City is an encouraging sign for LotR.

It certainly is encouraging to see more use of branching. I hope that it will become a much more common feature moving forward.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for seamless branching on a theoretical Lord of the Rings Blu-ray release -- Theatrical and Extended versions. That will eliminate the need for two physical editions of the film.
